Pfalzgrafenstein - "A ship of stone"

This is a castle built on a small patch of land right in the middle of the Rhine river near Kolb Germany. It was used to collect tolls. It was first built in 1327 by King Ludwig of Bavaria and has been added to and then refurbished. It is now a museum and you can get to it by ferry. It predominantly maintains its 14th century appeal. This picture courtesy of Larry Dumas.
