Mehrangarh Fort

A large fort built around 1460 and the home of a large and well stocked museum which includes a selection of palanquins. A palanquin is a litter where royalty would sit and be carried by people.

The castle itself is composed of several palaces and a noteworthy museum. There are gardens and more.

The museum has palanquins, armor, arms and costumes, paintings and even rooms decorated in various periods. It also includes two famous swords. One of Akbar the great and one of Timur. There is even a gallery of Turbans documenting the different types of turbans from the region.

Trivia - This fort was one of the filming locations of the movie "The Dark Knight Rises".
